An 18-month-old boy died after he allegedly choked on his necklace during nap time at a southern California daycare center.

Deacon Ryan Morin was critically injured at the Little Impressions Daycare in Fontana on October 5 and died after being taken off of life support five days later, according to a GoFundMe page created to help raise money.

The toddler was dropped off at the center by his mother Danielle Morin and when she returned to pick him up around 5pm she found paramedics working to revive him.

She was reportedly told by staff at the daycare that her son was strangled during his nap by the amber-teething necklace that he was wearing.

The toddler was rushed to Kaiser Permanente hospital in critical condition and she made the decision to remove him from life support at 3.01pm on Monday.

Danielle said police are investigating his death, but have not provided her with any answers, according to KABC.

She believes that there is more information that the staff at the daycare center are not telling her, including who initially performed CPR on her son.
